I toyed with this idea too because it would eliminate the need to hire an upholsterer. The only issue with it for my boat was that they ('90's Cig TG bolsters) were too high for the back of the cockpit area. I would have to cut the stands down a bit and then I think they would fit weird in stand-up mode.

I found a great deal on some new ones that I am going to purchase for the front however wondered if this might not be a bad idea to install 2 in the rear with a small custom bench between the two. Is this what you were thinking of? It would be quite easy to build a small bench between the two.

Just My 2 Cents But I Built All My Seat Frames From
Sheet Pvc..... It Comes In All Thicknesses And Is Really Easy To Work With........ Cut/ Screw And Glue

looks good. i think i'm going to try and build 4 seats.... hopefully. any pics of boats with 4 individual seats in the back??
