Default Want a stainless steel prop...

My girl wants a stainless steel blade on her boat. It's a 23' Glastron bow rider with a Volvo 305 ci. w/ Volvo SX outdrive. Currently has a 4 1/4 X 21 aluminum 3 blade and runs about 52 MPH.
Any suggestions on a Stainless upgrade?

Throttle Up?

I'd look for a mirage plus you can usually find them on ebay and you can get a flo torgue hub for the volvo drive

I think around 4900 - 5000 RPM. I remember I had a little room for RPM (maybe 200), that's if I loose all passengers and get a little ripple, I can hit 52 MPH.

Check out this link and give him a call at (800) 762-0309. He has a new style prop out called (Signature) that works very well with the volvo set up's, And the prices are within reason for a stainless steel prop.

we have a 20ft larson, so basically the same hull with the same engine drive combo. we had the 21 3 blade on the boat when we got it, and it would spin just under 5000. we switched to a 19in 4 blade, and it kept the same top speed of 55 at 5200rpm. and the acceleration was much better. it may be something to look into.

Aluminum? I hate aluminum. I'm just looking for the right size in SS. I'm thinking I would run like a Mirage Plus 19 pitch. But not sure.
I don't want to make the mistake of sticking with aluminum... it's like begging to be stranded and it's like throwing away HP.

I would stay at 21 P if I were you. Sounds like your at the right rpm's for that motor. As far as aluminum props go depending on where you run at they may save your drive if you hit something. If you hit something with a SS prop there's a better chance of damage to your drive. Like I said it depends on where you run.
