It is a tough decision, but after spending my entire season screwing with the carb at the boat ramp, I bit the bullet and ordered a carb form prosystems. A improperly tuned carb can cost you a piston at least and a motor at worst. I sold my other carb to offset the cost of the prosystems setup.

emailed the guys at ProSystems. They really do know their stuff. Gave them all my specs - displacement, lift, duration, compression, all that stuff. Based on that they are saying I want something 820 CFM to 840 CFM. 750 is too small. Not to argue with my builder, but carbs are all these guys do... However, much like BG they are proud of their stuff. I am sure they are worth it, but having a hell of a time opening the wallet...
Will have to decide something soon...

I run edelbrocks on my 454's in my gibson, but thats another totally diff deal, don't care for them in H/P apps, pro systems are the best carbs for the $$ out there period !! run them on my top sportsman race car, for what patrick charges for his carbs, you can hardly buy new stock stuff...

The Edelbrock carb is a homeowner carb. Its good to put on something to sell. But for true performance its a waste of time.
You get what you pay for. If you dont belive me look at everybodys engine pic on this site 99 percent of them that do not have a factory engine do not have a Edelbrock carb.
Its 1/2 price for a reason

Picked up a pair of used BG 820's in excellent shape for $700. Builder didn't seem too upset about them. Taking final parts (oil pan) to him today and will schedule dyno - hopefully Friday! Plan to upload dyno video to youtube
