When you hear a burglar in your house at 3 in the morning...you dont say " I'll investigate some other time " right ? Know what I'm sayin sir ? I hope the damage is minimal, and everything works out ok for ya. Have a great summer.

I was told i was going to have to replace the u joints in the future but the mechanic at the marina didn't make it seem like it needed to be done soon. The engine was aligned. It defenitely is true about the whole behind the keyboard thing. Hopefully it is the ujoints so that way it's not that bad. When the u joints break do the break any other thins in the process in the outdrive?

1+ on that. I'm active duty Coast Guard and the worst thing is picking people out of the water after their boat sank do to lack of preventative maintenance. Boating is a fun but expensive and time consuming hobby. This is a great forum lots of great info and people willing to help, I learned alot myself from this forum. I don't agree with bashing people on the forum we need to help our fellow boaters, especially new boaters its not just turn the key and go like a car. The majority of new boaters have no idea how involved taking care of a boat is.

Baja hope its not something major and you can get back on the water soon!

I think RHR is referring to an exploding driveshaft taking out bradz gimbal/ bellows a couple years ago.

was in a poker run this yr and one of the boats sunk from just such an occurance slightly different problem on a slightly different drive
but the results were the same
and these guys are consumate pros
very attentive
but **** happens
the water came in so fast
he was 100 yards off shore
manages to beach the boat with the blowers just above water
and she finished settling with the water over the helm and guages
bit of an expensive weekend
everyone walked away
5 miles offshore
and the outcome would have been very different
