One of the greatest days in recent years.
I got to spend a full day with engine builder Dick Gazan, and Steve Brule at Westech performance.
These guys have forgotton more about this stuff than I will ever know, and Ive done this more than most guys.
Learning, laughing listening to stories, wrenching, jetting- listen to a little small block roar.

Steve Brule- http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...ild/index.html
(theres a bunch of background on both guys)
Heres one of the later runs where we are getting pretty close to the final numbers.

Im pretty happy with what I got for what I spent and how simple the setup is. Basically you get a 500/500 engine with a torque curve like Kansas.
Hydraulic roller no valve adjusting BS, single carb. Something I can DEAL with.
Oh dont get me wrong my ilmor 710 is just incredible- and it should be for what it costs.
It was a great day with a couple of great guys...

Rookie- I got what the "old man" promised. Dick was teling me all along he was looking for the Torque to come in earlier and stay on later and compared to my flat tappett build of the same engine he delivered 10 years ago..... Its always cool to put "hero number" on the board but the flat curve is what I bought.
I put money into stuff that doesn't buy me ponies this time though like forged crank and rids instead of just forged pistons.
The shop was a delight, and the guys in there were just awesome.
Strip Poker388- Gazans in New Mexico building a few engines a year. The chevelle supsension thing has a story that sounded like it worked well for a while and ended with him getting burned which is unfortunate.
It was a delight to spend time with him.
