jjust put in a garmen 440s and this year and realy like it. i just add the tranduser today, but cant get it to show a deph on the traler. it shows temp but no depth. does it have to be in water? i took the transducer out and held it and still no depth just temp holding it above the ground. checked the seting in the unit and turned on the fish finder but still got the same readings. any help woul dbe great!

Must be in water, wont work on trailer.

mine does the same thing but it's pretty accurate in the drink..
