Default Help with Carb

I have a stock 454 mag with a Weber/Carter AFB/Edelbrock carb. After I run for a while then stop it is hard to start, like it is not getting fuel. I have heard that these style carbs have had problems with the fuel boiling out of the bowls. Has anyone had any issues with this and how to fix. Almost ready to buy a new carb.
Thanks

I never had a problem with my Weber carb after it warmed up. It would leak the fuel out of the bowls after sitting for a week or so and cold starts sucked.

You can probably buy a used big block Qjet cheap, that solved the problem for the ones I've worked on. The throttle linkage will hook up OK. Your manifold is probably a spreadbore with an adapter, so just toss the adapter. You'll need to make or buy a fuel line. The choke linkage will even work if you put a bend in the rod.

The stock magnum intake will fit a Weber, Qjet or Holley carb. Its is drilled for both spreadbore and squarebore carbs. If you switch to a Holley, then you will need about $50 worth of parts to connect the throttle cable linkage.
