Default 8100 496 in place of 502?

Dumb question... If a guy wanted to replace a 502 with a damaged block (from improper winterization), would an 8100 496 (2002 Truck engine I believe) be an option? I would still have the EFI setup, manifolds, heads etc from the 502 MAG. I know the 8100 is set up basically like an LS engine, and alot different than the 502 but if I have all/most necassary parts then...???

P.S. forgive my ignoreance!!!

That's what I assumed. I've honestly never had either apart, and truthfully didn't know. There was a local guy here on craigslist with the 8100 for $350-the price caught my attention but I will keep searching for a 502. Thanks for the help!
