Default Painting/Powdercoating throttles?

I was wanting to update the look of my dash in my 93 27' fountain fever. It has a black throttle and drive selector lever. Has anyone tried to paint or powdercoat their stock levers?

You could do either. You just have to remove them and disassemble. Then paint or powdercoat. Good prep work is the key to a good finish.

Those levers turned out nice! What about the base plate? It seem to be plastic? Can you powdercoat plastic?

Its not plastic. Its aluminum with rubber inserts.

I see your from IL,theres a place in Zion IL J and J powder coating they have done a couple of twin set ups for me,I always have them first do the color and then go over them with clear ,they get around $150.00 .

but you do have to take them apart, remove all springs and check balls ,rubber stops and neutral switches

I always have stuff powdercoated clear on top as well, another thing that I have found works well is to "clear" powdercoat overtop of polished aluminum, it protects it from yellowing or oxidizing and protects it from gas, or chemicals as well

Default Throttles Powder Coated

I had my throttles, shifters and bunch of other things powder coated over the summer. Find a good quality powdercoater, I had a couple of pieces done twice because I didn't like the finish from the first powdercoater and he took 6 weeks. I have a thread coming soon on my new cockpit.
