Is it worth the extra money to go with a lightweight "gear reduction" style starter? I know they are quite a bit lighter and draw less amperage, do they hold up well in a marine environment? The motor is stock, so, its not hard to turn over, but, if I have to change it anyway, I might as well upgrade it now, as opposed to later

Thanks!
Michael

Yes your ground wire should be the same size as your power wire. You are only as strong as your weekest link...

Thanks Audio!!

Do I upgrade the negative battery cable? Or is there an actual "ground" wire that attaches to the alternator/starter? A print or diagram would be REALLY awesome!

Thanks!
