How much more power will you gain make sure it is worth the money, unless 454 is worn out

I'm getting mine freshened up with new cams, lifters, springs, rocker arms, little more compression. Target is 500 hp with the upgrades. Going to cost about $3500 a engine. Using same heads, intake, and carb. I couldn't see buying new blocks, when I could get reliable hp increase out of what I had.

A +1/4" stroke crank over your stock crank will yield 496" in your 454 block.

Definitely what I was going to do if my bottom end had needed work.

Using the stock weber carbs, 750 cfm. I haven't gotten the motors back yet. I have seen on here some bump the carbs to 800 cfm. Got all my engine parts thru marine kinetics.
