If you where balls racing and you had sustand 7 to 8 thousand RPM then the polishing the ports would be good. The trouble with polishing them is you will lose low end trouqe. By polishing at low RPMs the fuel will puddle in the bottom of the ports because there is no rough surface to break up the A/F mixture.
Summit makes intake gaskets that have find screens in the port just to break up the fuel moleclues. So you can restore you bottom end torque.
I you want to port and know what your doing by all means port and match but dont polish. You will lose on the bottom end. Blend the bowls and match ports but just leave em rough.
