Default A Plug for a Pro (YOUNG PERFORMANCE MARINE)

Just got back home from doing a final tune on our 25' Eliminater with Eddie Young from YOUNG PERFORMANCE MARINE. he is in the Nashille area and got to tell you that he is not only a great guy he knows marine engines and boats like nobodys business. I had to put this on the forum because I feel like this is a good way let folks know of a place that really is good at what they do. I have been in the Hotrodding Business in Atlanta (automotive)for 20 years and have never run across someone that is as thorough as Eddie. Thought you guys might like to know.

he has answered several questions about my new 555 bbc engines, and he was not even the builder. that says alot about eddie.i even offered to pay him for his time, but he would not take it. the builder of my engines pasted away before they were completed,so i needed some advise to make sure all the components were correct for my application.eddie was a huge help. tom

I built our motor. But believe me, you may already know but a marine engine is a different ball of wax than a car motor. I was lucky enough to get in touch with Eddie when I first started the build and he walked me thru the entire build, never charging me a nickel for the wealth of knowledge he gave me. He did the wiring harness (changed over to MEFI 4) and did the final set up and put it on the dyno, (there was a charge for these items of course) I brought the motor back to Georgia, installed it and took the boat back to him for final tune and he did not charge for this service at all. Needless to say this guy comes highly recommended by us.

Eddie is definately one of the good guys. You are not the first to post such positive experiences and I'm sure you won't be the last.

Eddie always offers good advice to anyone, free of charge here on the forum. I have heard great things from people about his work. Glad to see somone posting with a good experence. It seems like so many of the post are so negitive. Also there are so many post without a conclusion. Just left up in the air with no ending.

So what kind of speed and HP did you get. Give us some details about the build.

Well like I said, I am a car builder but we were really happy with this build not having any experience with all the different internals of a marine engine. We ended up with right at 800 HP. The darn alternator was bad and we did not know it so it kept running out of spark at about 5000 rpm so we never really got it to top hp on the dyno but the dyno sheets we have show 756. (The pro thinks its right at 800) As far as speed we found out we need a new prop for this amount of hp but with the one we had and the water as rough as it was we got up to 101MPH! Correct me if I'm wrong Eddie. we were happy with that so far.
