For the doubters and 7% slip:
I was in a 1-1.5 ft chop so the boat was getting some air under it. My estimation at the rpm may be off--I have never been 83 before and I was pretty stoked at the time. (may have been more)
The speed was by GPS and did it twice.

Not doubting your speed. I had to work at mine to get 9.8% some guys are running 12 or more. I was thinking your tach may be off if you used GPS.

Congrats F-Tomato!!
I have finally seen 70 (70.7 GPS) in my 1989 Python 24. I have more to go as I am only spinning 4500 on my 502 with 4-blade 25P Hydromotive.
I NEVER would have trusted running my 24/7 this hard until I installed full hydraulic steering. In fact I soiled myself a couple of times before I did.
Great work - keep us posted on your speed runs. I definitely have something to shoot for (and a lot of work to get there).

Your slip numbers may be close, I ran the numbers on mine and came up with similar slip #s. I know my drive is very high and the boat is light..
I included a pic of my 83 MPH run at the LOTO shootout.
