Default Window Glass rubber strips.

I am replacing the glass and frames in my 255 Formula Liberator A~Z.

Does any one know of a source for the retainer bead or rubber strips that hold the glass in the frame? I am surprised that I am having trouble finding this material.

Local SE Florida pick up preferred.

Thanks guys...this gives me a great head start. I'm going to call Scott Smith...Formula Customer Service to see if he has the specs for this. I think my assemblies were either Water Bonnet or Taylor made and cover several Formula models from the late '70's through '86 which was the end of the "Flat Glass" era.

Scott was very busy today but spoke with Karen that was super sharp as well. As luck would have it...the 255 Lib shares glass and frames with the 242/272 and 302 up though '86. I suspected this and verified it today. Karen gave me the contact info for the guy in Tampa that bought all of the Water Bonnet frames and glass patterns when they shut down. When I talked to him this afternoon and gave him the pattern numbers that Karen gave me he perked up quickly. "You have the Flat Glass Sport Cruiser set up from '77~'86...I have all that stuff and can supply you with what ever you need"!!!

Oh hell yeah!! I said. I will call him back in the AM and get the specifics on the gaskets and other hardware I need.

So all you "Flat Glass" Formula guys out there take notice...Captain Sprink has hit the mother load on the glass and frames we need!!!

Stay tuned...

I used these people when I replaced my dry rotted rubber holding my glass in on my 81 Scarab S. Great people to work with sent me several inches of differant sizes to verify which one I needed.

I just got the CAD drawings today of the vent widows Style 2121. These fit most 77~86 Formula "Flat Glass" applications for sport cruiser...LS models.

PM me with your e-mail if you would like a copy...everything you need for a 100% perfect reproduction. FYI...you need Auto Cad or a dwg format reader to view.
