Just a thought, when you changed the impellor in the leg did you check the water tube from the leg up to the engine? Could be partially blocked and causing intermitent slowing of water flow?

This is my internet guess, blockage there.
From what I found online the top should have a restricter gasket and the others should be open type. Is there harm in replacing with all the open type? and could a blockage on one side cause steam from both? thanks all! |
the restrictors are there to equalize the water pressure between the risers. Some people run both open with no problems and some have one hot riser from switching to the open on both. You can give it a shot but it sounds like you have something else going on. Just a guess here but double check you have the t-stat in correctly (spring side toward engine). If it is upside down you could be getting overheated and not show it on the temp guage because the temp sender is just after the t-stat
