Default Stereo help

Need some help from the stereo experts...

I'm trying to layout my system upgrades now and then buy and install in stages (budget issue ) so would like some help with speaker placement and amp selection. I'm pretty set on the JL components, I have had good experience with them in the past and so I rather not turn this into a JL Audio vs. other brands discussion but more a discussion on layout/placement and amp selection.

I currently have 3 Eclipse coaxial 6.5's on each side, one pair is under the bolster. They are run off two Eclipse XA2000's, there are also 2 Eclips coaxial's 6.5's up in the cabin. Then there's 2 12" Eclipse subs in the rear seat run off 2 Eclipse XA1000's.

Here's what I am thinking, and what I would like opinions on.

4 JL M7.7's on each side run off 2 JL MHD 600/4's
2 JL IB10's in the rear seat ran off one bridged JL MHD 600/4

I'm thinking of putting a set of components up in front of the bolster (where the 6.5 is already) so the tweeters can be further forward towards the dash than the 7.7 will allow then a 7.7 coaxial under the bolster, a 7.7 coaxial where the existing 6.5 is (actually a little forward, closer to the back of bolster) and a 7.7 coaxial above and rear of the 7.7 coaxial near the bolster.

Oh and last question...what color JL's white or black and classic grille or sport grille?

What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Comments?

If you have little kids go with classic, no kids go with sport, IMO the sport looks better but kids will poke at it and mess up the speaker, ask me how I know?

Being in salt water, I would definately take a good look at DC Gold speakers. The DCG 7's are the exact same size cutout as the JL 7.7's. They sound great and have a 3 year warranty.

One 600/4 should be plenty to power all 8 speakers. I would power the subs with a 750/1.

Griff how would one 600/4 power all 8 speakers? I'll admit I'm not that versed on the stereo and amp stuff but isn't the 600/4 a 4 channel? Therefore 4 speakers? The back of the amp only has 4 terminal connections...so I"m thinking 2 pair of speakers, no?

4 ohm drivers run in series will show 2ohm load at the amp per channal . possitive to positive negative to negative per 2 speakers to each channal thus 8 peakers
