Default Fuel pump issue

I have a gen 6 454, it uses the fuel pump/ water pump setup, does any one know there I can get a rebuild kit for it, the seal is leaking oil,...? Second I bought a holly red marine fuel pump, they say to mount below fuel tank but that's not happening lowest I can get it is mid way... It won't hold pressure when tank low on fuel, does any one recommend a fuel pump that sucks fuel???

only place ive been able to get them is mercury marine .they are made of stainless w rubber 2 seals are the same # and the very front 1 behind the pully is diff . you will need a puller for the pully and once off punch a hole in the seal and pry it out there will be a snap ring remove that and press the rest out take note on the 2 smaller seals they go opposit from each other .can be done in about an hour . just did 2 last week w brngs and seals .also when you take the fuel pump off you will notice gas in the cavity where gear oil should be
[ no your fuel pump is not bad ]its a very common thing just change the oil even if you put a new pump on same thing next year will happen .hope this helps

Manley marine makes a 140GPH pump that can lift up to 16", model #4142 and its USCG certified.

I buy the bearings and seals from a local company. I rebuilt a couple 3 weeks ago, $35 each.

If you are leaking from a front seal, you still need to keep oil in the pump even if you block it off and go electric.

Ive seen where guys drill and tap the housing, so they can drain and fill the sea pump lube, as this is very common for them to get fuel soaked.

Personally, i'd take the merc sea pump/fuel pump setup over a holley electric pump any day.

I've heard from several sources the Holley is not a good choice their flow is way over rated.
