454 issues
A little background. 28' fishing boat, 8500 lb fully loaded. 454gen v stock 10 hrs on rebuild by a local machine shop.
Issue- the upper end sounds rattle ish. In trying to find out whats going on I checked out the valve trai in operation, one of the pushrods was spitting oil like a severed artery. All the rest seemed normal. Any ideas. |

Sounds like the lifter might be collapsed and is passing to much oil up the pushrod.The extra clearance at the valve tip could cause the clatter.
