The original bulbs were not LED's, they were just bulbs - some of them did use colored bulbs (mostly red).

Ya. LEDs weren't invented yet I believe...but some companies have replacement bulbs for them and are brighter and last longer. Livorso has them for 6 bucs a piece but i dont think they fit.

Dtile, they list all of the dimensions on the site. Can't you just take a dial caliper and measure your existing ones? That is a neat idea that I had not thought of - might be a good winter upgrade for my boat. Heck, I just have the stock incandescent ones with my wife's red fingernail polish on them to make them red.

What I would really like to do is replace the old square bezels on my gauges. The faces are not faded and they all work, so I really don't want to spend hundreds on new ones, and besides I added an oil temp and water pressure that both have black faces and bezels. Sure would be nice to find a set of round bezels and lenses that I could swap over. Mine are the old square bezel VDO's that were common on Baja's, Formula's, etc. of the era.

I think the dash needs to be redone to do it right, saw some guy who does them on here who a lot claim to be reasonable and he includes the gauges. My work fine and I don't mind the old look...just cant see them...saw these though last nite...http://www.egauges.com/vdo_grou.asp?Series=12V_Vanguard if ya had to repalce bad ones, though these would look nice with a new dash...http://www.egauges.com/vdo_bld3.asp?...il_CarbFib_Mar
here are livorisihttp://www.livorsi.com/catalog/led_a...ries.htm#bulbs

I don't have a dial caliper here, just need the bulb number to be sure. Winter project? would take 10 min to changes the bulbs!

Those Autometers are nice! I would love to redesign my dash and use some like them, but I have already dumped too much money into the old tub, and I still need to spring some $$ for new graphics on the hull. Maybe Santa will be nice to me this year.

When I wrote my reply I didn't realize that these just replace the bulbs - I thought they had to be hard wired in. Yes, that would be way cool to just pop them in. I would just order a couple and see if they fit. What is the return policy on them?

Well, i bought LEDs for all gauges and come to find out only three, MPH and RPH use Bayonet -the others use wedge...I put the LEDs in and they didnt work...but worked on 12 volt wires...so I had to switch the leds for some reason on the housings and they work as LEDS...but...not that bright. Maybe wrong kind of bulb. They will do. While playing around with the wedge ones I broke one housing..and some of the red came off some of the bulbs. So im worse off as usual. Anyone know where to find the VDO stock Housings for the wedge lights?
