I look forward to this thread cause Im doing the same thing. Are you going to repaint also?

Just the bilge and hatch will be repainted. I want to get it as clean as possible so if there are future leaks I can tell what/where they are coming from.

Thanks for the photo. I plan on doing 2 different sets of LED's. one set will be colored for show off and the other set will be bright clear for inspection. I want to place inspection lights under the motor and on all 4 sides.

I bought these from superbright leds. I used an epoxy and placed them on a small alum strip to mount underneath. They also make them RGB. I then used a normally open magnetic switch to turn them on and off, hatch closed lights go off, hatch goes up and turns on automatically

Be careful with those switches that are supposed to turn off when closed. Monza used to have a switch in all their boats that would do the same thing when you opened and closed the motor cover. After the first dead battery most people took them out.

Fuelin, the lights I got are from ledglow they are undercar lights that are in sealed tubes. They are expandable also so I can put lights down low also. They are really bright & you could use them for inspection lights also as they will turn to white with the remote. You can even hook them up to your stereo. Randy

Day 4... Stripped the motor down and painted it all gloss black. I am trying to decide if I want to accent the motor with stainless steel AN fittings or Blue and Red. I wish they offered more colors. I am leaning towards the Stainless steel fittings. Thoughts???? Also the inside of my thermostat was disgusting. Looked like it was rotting out pretty well. I wasnt to happy with the inside of the intake manifold either. I decided to replace the thermostat housing but leave the intake alone for now.

Motor out sitting on the floor, intake not looking so good, winter on the way......
New intake, cam, roller rockers, and some GLM exhaust would get you bunch of HP and drop about 100 lbs from the package.
PS, if your intake looks bad what's you exhaust look like?
