I've pulled the carb and will go through it with a fine tooth comb now that I have it on the bench. I will pull the secondary PV. I think my lean miss may be just my PV starving for fuel.

It sounds to me like the secondary float level is set too low.

I actually have it set a little on the high side. I think the fact that the boat pulls so hard was leaning out the secondary power valve. I'm planning on removing the secondary PV. Of course a bigger prop would help that problem too.

Did you check the float level in the water or on the trailer?

need to put a vacume gauge on it and see what vac you are pulling at different RPM's, you may be getting to point you are closing the power valves even at WOT

I've set the float levels in the water at 1/4 up on the site glass. I do have a vacuum gauge and I pull 10" at idle in neutral, 5"-6" in gear, 7"-8" at cruise, and it stays 0" at WOT. I have a very custom flame arrestor to make sure I have good flow. I have the K&N 4"x14" USCG certified element, with a velocity stack style base and a top that helps direct flow into the carb.
