I would recommend doing it right or not at all. The words "cheap" and "stereo" don't unsually work out to well when used together.

I would not say that. You can build a system for low money if you do it right. I have less than $1000 in mine, although I did get a heck of a deal on the amps and crossover.

Head unit $200
two sets of 6.5" $200
two subs $200
Amp to run it $400
Install materials $100

If you can do it yourself thats $1100 for a new system.

Search around on craigslist, watch ebay and you can find some deals. I could put a system together for around $500.
