S&J Engines from Washington. Other then the bearings, the engine was flawless.

One question. Why?

Isnt that what assembly lube is for? It makes no sense. Just plain carless & cheap. You dont need to be a $50,000 engine builder to use a $12 bottle of assembly lube...

Just checked J&R's website ....nice ..I bought an engine years ago from a company with a decent web presence and nice full color brochures . When it showed it had red silicone squirting out of several spots .Even though I had told them ,and ordered a motor for a mechanical pump, they put in a cam with no fuel pump lobe .I called them and they wanted to pay me a couple hours to install new cam .After a little "discussion" they decided to send a "tech" out to put in cam . Didn't pull or even loosen oil pan ..Pried out timing cover and forced cover back on after cam install .Obviously intake and valve covers off .Plenty more red silicone everywhere. Long story short. . They had nice sales tools and subpar motors .Don't know anything about S&J .They may be all that .But I do have to wonder why in the heck they would spin a dry cam.. They didn't expect you to see the bearings.

You took their subpar motor apart, that voids the warranty. And they probably dont cae if your happy as I doubt they think your going to buy another motor from them anyways. It sucks but thats todays world.

phragle you're right about warrantee being voided .I think some of the big reman companies just play the numbers .A lot of people don't really know what they are getting and think it's their own fault if it all goes to hell .I mean look at their brochures ,it has to be a good company............sarcasm

a good graphic/web guy you pay once and done. A few good engine guys are a recurring expense. Im sure Javiar's illegal cousin and the dope smoking high school dropout down the street are employeed much cheaper.

Warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on. I do my own work anyways. Only reason I bought this was because I couldn't find a good used core anywhere near me.

All other bearings and the crank look excellent. Just those cam bearings.
