the size of the deck LOL

Hey guys im trying to get the bottom of something. In 1979 to 1990 did gm build any long decks in the 454 or were those primarily in the 427 and 502? And if they did so can i pair a long deck with a short deck and will the exhaust and intake manifolds match up from a short deck to a tall deck ??? Thanks guys!

Unless the degree of the v is different no you can't. I'm new to Chevys. but from a geometry stand point if your triangle has the same degree at the bottom (cylinders) and then it goes out farther at the sides. Your connecting point (intake manifold) will have to wider. If that makes any sense. I've been drinking at the thunder run for about 10 hours hahha
