Mufflers will be fine and won't hurt a thing. I would not run silent choice on a 500hp carbed engine. They had reversion problems at idle until they changed the riser design.

I would do a leak down test and change the valve springs. My guess is that some springs stayed compressed for a very long time and 200hrs is about when they need changed anyway on a carbed 500HP.
