formula dash upgrade

this project started because my wife bought me a soon to be full set of livorsi gauges for Christmas. the gps speedo and drive water psi will be coming soon. so this is my template the center will be cut out later its laid out for a garmin 740s chart plotter. this is the new dash made out of marine plywood. here i used a fleece sweat shirt that my daughter grew out of to form for the rpm and speedo. all glassed in with countless hrs of sanding this is how it looks now

i will be using a setup similar to this with these switches and bezels http://www.lipship.com/parts/view/39
livorsi makes a color matching cover for the 740 chart plotter that will be in the box with the two missing gauges.http://www.livorsi.com/index.htm

inlinepwr 02-15-2014 04:09 PM

Thanks guys
I used total boat epoxy from Jamestown distributers but mixed it with west systems filler it worked out well. Here is a pic with the speedo installed with one coat of paint.

In this pic. You can see the factory black trim plate under the controls which will be replaced with the same silver carbon fiber.

Thanks for all the kind words. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I have a few things to work out, the first is the water psi guage is not reading any psi. I'm hoping its just a zip tie that is a little too tight although I was very careful with the install. I also have to check the wiring on the wiper switch. I have a on off on switch installed, with the switch up the drivers side wipes but with the switch down only the passenger motor wipes so I think I need to install a jumper wire to make both sides wipe in the down position. After I work out these few bugs I have to learn how to use the chartplotter.

inlinepwr 04-22-2014 08:27 PM

No its not just you :lolhit:
