just a FYI http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...rder=Ascending Really?! An insurance agent is going to crawl around my bilge checking to see what manufacturer of fittings is used.. are you ****ing high? Where do you come up with this $hit?? Its an aluminum fitting, you wanna over pay more for a name brand GO FOR IT. FYI, only Earl's fittings are made in the Holley Plant located in Bowling Green, KY. Redhorse, Aeroquip, Russell, Sniper, PBM, and others are manufactured overseas in order to keep costs down, so you may wanna get your facts straight because according to your definition Aeroquip is also "imported crap" RedHorse however is 30 min from my house, I never knew this but now that i do I`ll gladly support a local company, plus the owner is a nice guy and a racer. Good enough for me. |
i got to go with fixx on this one, redhorse fittings are way thinner than earls or aeroquip but i have no idea who imports these products.i know for a fact a fairly large retailer pulled the redhorse line due to problems with fittings.imo, when it comes to an fittings you get what you pay for.

I've never used redhorse but the finish on their fittings sure look nicer than most others I've seen. I used all summit brand fittings when I re plumbed my engines. I've heard people call them junk. I have had no issues with them, although I did like the aero quip push lok hose better than the summit hose .
When re - rigging two engines with all new fittings, I spent 500 vs 1000 dollars by using the summit fittings. The highest pressures my fittings see is oil pressure. On the water side, maybe 20 psi. I wasnt plumbing a 2500psi hydraulic line . Lots of racers on yellow bullet have good things to say about the redhorse fittings. If they met the quality to supply edelbrock, harley Davidson , and Jack roush, I'm sure they will be just fine for a 7psi fuel line or your 20psi water line Dan. |
joe, they do have a nice shiney finish and look great.i tried some on some -12 oil lines and so far so good but i did notice they are thinner than the earls brand.i like to save a buck when i can and i am replumbing my fuel system but im going with earls.

Dan has to plumb in some water dumps for his exhaust. He COULD go aeroquip for 231.00 for 12 fittings. Or he could go Redhorse for the 40% off special for $94.36. For some 20psi water dumps, I think he will be fine, plus saving $137.00 on 12 simple fittings.
