Default Mercury external power steering

Hello Guys,

I have a chance to pick up an older Mercury twin ram external steering kit to mount on my 222 Stinger and I wanted some feedback. I know it's overkill for the boat but I would rather use this rather than replacing the worn out cable helm with the same thing. Were these systems any good? Are there any problems that I should be aware of?

Thanks for the help.

222 stinger, as soon as you are over 300 hp, you are in the ballpark for hyd steering. fast little hull. overkill on steering is like too much money or boobs too big. ain't no such thing...

Thanks for the help guys, I think this is the best option given my future plans with the boat and power. I'm in the process of figuring out the ram positions and I was wondering if anyone had some dimensions of a Bravo wing plate?
