I have a 88 fountain with twin trs out drives. The steering is hard. It has hydrolic stableizers. It also has a rotary steering system for the cable. What can I do to mane this turn with less effort. I was thinking of changeling to a rack and pinion cable set up but i m not sure it would help. Please give input.

I just went through with this on my 10meter.the boat came with add on hyd assest stering.meaning it had a rotary cable controller and cable that ran to the transom control arm.the rotary controller had a lot of slop in it.i could have made it full hyd from the helm to the transom or replace the rotary/cable system.the full inside hyd kit was 1100.00 plus.the new rotary control w/a no feed back control and cable was under 400.00 with shipping.the later kit is a better choice.but money was tight so I did the rotary.was also going to be easyer to install.
