You can use the hose with an electric pump to drain the transmission, then refill back through the same hose using the quart bottle of gear lube with the thread in hand pump. When filling from the bottom, it is easier to get the proper level, but it happens to be almost exactly 32 oz on a drain/refill. It is a few ounces more if the transmission is new/rebuilt.
