I am wondering if an aftermarket automotive flywheel like Zoom 50-6525 , $88 at summitracing will
work as a replacement for a genuine Mercuiser 168t 1-piece crank flywheel.
Need a new flywheeI for a 383 build and not sure if a six bolt Bravo coupler will fit to the thread holes
in these replacement flywheels.
Has anyone already tried that?

but 383 are mostly ext balance engines. diff flywheel balance from neutral balance 350. i am sure summit offers 383 flywheel, and it will work. coupler bolts on to flywheel where clutch pressure plate mounts.

ok i just did a little research,350 was internally balanced until 1985 then they went to the one peice rear main seal, they are externally balanced with a weight in the flywheel/flexplate, the harmonic balancer on the crank snout is the same..

Ok I thought you were referring to the 350 itself but was confused so that's why I posted a marine OEM stock 350 being external balance in my question to you. Yep been that way externally balanced for a very very long time. If I recall it was before 1985 for the Marine OEM's I can look it up as well thru Merc or OMC or Volvo.
