Seats and console done besides adding cup holders
Wired up the amps, will get a finished pic of amps and intercom box soon

Nice work. Do you have a plan for foot rests? I prefer sit down boats myself, but I think foot rests are a must if you run in rough water.

My feet are flat on the floor but I did build a wedge to go on the bulkhead as a footrest. I'll prob make flip down one for the passenger seat

Finally finished stereo and intercom wiring (minus a couple small screws)

And made a Velcro enclosure for the front of the console for storage of the headsets

Please take no offence but I would never mount an amp on carpet. If anything I about guarantee you will extend their lives by mounting them on a hard surface.

Care to explain how the 1/16" pile of the carpet is going to shorten it's life?

Alittle late to the game but here's the sitdown conversion I did on my race boat. Hands down far and away the abssolute best thing I've ever done for rough water stability, comfort and control.
Here's some before and after pics

So I've looked all over stereo install instructions, manufacturer websites, and installer how to's etc and find nothing about not mounting on carpeted surfaced, in fact most say how to mount it on carpeted surfaces. So if you know something I can't find info on please chime in

Heat. Under there on a 90 degree day with the stereo pumping. When I installed a set of amps in my maroon van I installed them on a hard board and put 1/4 rubber washers behind them so they would have air all the way around. Did the same in the boat but there was already a hard surface to mount it on. Yours also look to have very little cooling fins.

I see, I would just think that if that was really an issue there would be some kind of note from the manufacturer. Trunk of a black car has to be pretty hot mid summer too.

Boat is coming along nice! reminder: never put beer in trunk of black cars
