I think you missed the point. Charts are all over the place; I was saying (inartfully I guess)there are even some charts that put them at 113cc which is clearly wrong and might lead someone like the OP and his friend down a wrong path and the biggest "chart" number I found was 118cc, which would change his scenerio. I know we were over 118cc on my 049s, and every 781 I've seen was looked about the same size. My understanding was 049 and 781 are very similar in numbers, but 781s were designed to correct the cracked seat problem that seemed to plague the 049. 122cc will really screw up his numbers, but does sound like a good low-boost blower motor!

Nothing beats CCing them yourself!

Not stock if it has flat top pistons.

Thanks for all the input everyone
Not sure what he will do but since the bottom end is already together and it does seem it would be strong enough to push his 272 baja around in mid to upper 60 with 500 hp and torque. Not sure about the low end torque for the hole shot. He was told the 290 oval runners would help with that. Any thoughts on that issue?

These hp figures crack me up, if this engine make 370 hp I'd be shocked. There is no compression to this engine. Your buddies Baja is going to be lucky to break 55 mph. On an accurate gps I predict 52 mph, with the engine set up as it has been described.

I hucked together a 3600lb mid 80's car with a factory shortblock 2 bolt main, small rod, cast flat top's and stock (other than springs/retainers/ valve job) 781's. Got that fker to run 12.40's. That's mid to upper 300's. Or more according to others hp calculators.LOL.

But yeh, 8:1 compression just plane ol sucks.

Like everyone else is saying, unless you do something for the compression, you'll have a nice 330 or so engine.

He should have the heads milled to bring to 8.8 or so compression, even 9.0 to 1 will do a hell of a lot for the curve. The 500 efi cam will work better to.
