454 with 177 blower build
1 Attachment(s)
I'm starting this thread to document this build. I have already received much help from some of you, thank you. I've learned a lot on OSO so far and I hope this will give back, at least a little. Long/short is last offseason I built up my engines from stock 365 mags to 475-500 horsepower 460ci & 468ci engines. One engine wasn't stock, it was already .030 over so had to go .060 over on that one. I am now in the process of acquiring the needed parts to successfully add on Weiand 177 superchargers. The parts have started to arrive tonight.

I'd love to hear the build on 750hp big blocks using 177 blowers

Those carbs are awesome . Good choice on that Ramos.
All joking aside, looking forward to watching this build progress. . |

Projected hp I hope to be between 600-650, big spread I know but what do I know.....Right now I plan on dynoing the "weaker" of my two motors and then I'll set up the other the same before final tune on water with wideband. I'm thinking of spinning these no more than 5500, we'll see on dyno but I'm a cautious fellow and still get nervous when I hear the truck kick it down a gear up a steep grade when towing, ha.
Screw it, I'll post up on this thread all my current projects. I'll probably be flamed for some but I'm all good with that. As some of you may remember I have a slight trailer issue. Below are some pics of progress with that. Kind of hard to tell but two 20ft long support rails that will be welded to the top of existing trailer frame by 2in spacers, welding is a blast, just learned how to do that too. Oh yeah, one of the driest cities but once I have some raw steel laying around it decides to rain a few days now gotta sand off some rust before painting. 750 is a STRONG number for a 177 Blower engine to be used in a marine environment. High compression and a big roller will get you there, but in a boat, those things wont work. I had a pair that made 575 each with 9.0 compression, square port heads and comp cams hyd. flat tappet cams. They ran great.
