I might just build them to build them if they work great if they dont then I'll buy some, Like I have said before this isnt a offshore boat. When the manifolds are done you can beat your ass that I wont be closing the hatch and never looking at them.
As far as the 496 manifolds go I assume your talking about the 6.0l ls motors they put in wakeboard boats. Correct?? as 496 BBC manifolds wont fit.
It seems finding a used set of those isnt easy to come by as I dont think they made alot of those boats. I could be wrong and I'm all ears if you want to point me in the right direction

The real problem with used ls stuff is it isnt old yet. And there isnt much to upgrade with. People buy 496 boats and upgrade exhaust right away. Now there is a new-used 496 manifold set on the market. Or a guy blows his big block and replaces engine complete. Now there is a used set on the market. That just does not happen with ls setups. Very few have died yet.
Gotta buy new.

Why don't you mimic a set of shorty car headers upside down and box them in with a water box similar to the Hi-Tek style. If you want to make a set the easiest and most reliable way power making way, that looks to be it. I asked in you in your other post, but where abouts in town are you? I'm up in Blaine.

I'm real close to 10 and 65 about 1 mile east. The boat stays at my cabin in Brainerd thou. How about yourself.

I store up north but bring it down to use and "work on". I'm going up tomorrow to go get it since we have such an early spring to get things done. I'm about a half mile east of 65 and main. So you're over off J somewhere between hwy and cty 10.
I would get stainless block huggers or at least a stainless weldup kit. The Shorty's are going to have the wrong flange angle on them, but you got the idea.

I'm one block south of cr 10 and silverlake rd.
Looks like you took your boat out to soon. Dam snow!!!
If you ever need a hand or need some parts machine let me know.
Told my wife the plans this weekend and she was less then exicted(typical). Having a 4 month old at home, being it almost the end of march. Might be staying with the 4cyl this summer and working on getting this motor built over the summer then throwing it in have labor day.
Give me something todo at work when I'm sick of building stuff.

I ended up not getting it. I saw the forecast on Saturday night and it said we were going to get more like 5 inches and it looked like north was going to be worse. Little irritated when we only go a dusting and I wasted my day away. At least I got my smoker up and running to smoke some meats.
I love the "told my wife the plans" and she was less than excited. Why is that, my wife gets the same way. It has made me learn to only tell her what I need to tell her. My wife has instituted a "Happy Wife" clause in my boat working on expeditions. I have to have what I want to do to it done my Memorial and can't mess with it until Labor day unless it is necessary maintenance that could keep us from using the boat it the time span described. I was hoping to get a few extra weeks with the nice weather we've been having. Looks like next weekend, and the weather looks ok so far.
Do you have the said motor you want to put in the toon?
Andy

I actually have two motors a 5.3l out of GM truck that I'm using for mock up and a 98 LS1 out of a Camaro. There is about 75 pounds difference between the two (alum block vs steel) really no HP difference as I could throw a cam in the 5.3l. I might just sell the LS1 as they have doubled in price since I bought mine a few yrs ago so I could use the money to fund the rest of modifcations I want todo to the boat.
