looks fine to me. I don't see any unusual wear.

Does rubber look ok? it looked a little twisted to me but maybe I’m being over zealous due to already having the motor out. Hate to drop $500 for no reason.

You don't have enough HP to twist the rubber. The rubber goes bad from the drive not being properly aligned. It burns up.
I am running 800+ HP through one of those couplers. I ran 650 HP through two of them for years and then one of them is now behind the 800+ HP
Keep them properly aligned and greased and they will last a long time.

Hello,

Only resurrecting this thread because it pulled up "zerk" in my search. So, my question is, do you guys believe the zerk fitting and pumping grease through it provides ample lubrication/grease to the right spot or area? I just did mine, it was easy to get to, so I put 20 pumps into each zerk fitting on the coupler.

thx

You just made a big mess first time the engine runs. a couple of pumps every spring or one pump every month for you 9 to 12 month boaters.
I always pull my drives every spring and check alignment and U joints.
with all of the wires, cables and hoses I don't know if I could get to the zerks.

My drive is pulled at end of season and stored inside. Therefore it is aligned each spring before the start of boating season.

Opps, a big mess? Are you saying the grease will fling out of somewhere? like the zerk?
