Which fluid for the trim system on my 96 bravo

Is the Merc powersteering/trim the correct stuff? I read somewhere it could also be 0-30 oil.........

Stick a piece of something in there and see what color the fluid is.

It's a runny dirty brown right now. I think it's power steering.... I dumped it all out right now. I'm changing over to the GRP bracket and reservoir. I'll go with the Merc stuff.

10 w - 30 motor oil

Every boat I've ever had used engine oil. If I've had to add oil, I used 10w-30.

I'm going to change all my trim fluids out next week, and I'll use 10W-30 motor oil

Somehow did we mis something or is this a joke. My whole day has been like this. I'm starting to question my sanity. :eekdrop:

Not sure about other brands but my Dana tabs take 30wt oil.

I never mentioned anything about trim tab fluid the OP asked about the trim reservoir for the outdrive. I have used 10 w 30 motor for 25 years for the Merc side.

Some tabs for fluid use ATF as well
