Hours are important when the Whipples were installed and what was done to the engines for a re-fresh or not at time of install. Definitely find out the drive maintenance and rebuild history.

Top end rebuilds if they haven't already at a minimum. If the boat is a 35'+ and anything bravo they might need attention too.

I've got that set up with 150 hours. Zero problems thus far. Absolutely bullet proof for me. As mentioned above, at 250 hours you will need the value springs done and the bigger concern with this package will be the drives, assuming the boat has Bravos.
First set lasted two seasons, I'm into my third season now and they're still holding together.

Just remember, those aren't blower pistons..........a buddy of mine had 3.3 whip's on his stock 525's and when pulled apart there were five cracked pistons, good luck
