And the wear plate is universal, either side? There isnt a side that the impeller must seat/sit against?

Just need to line up the bolt holes, otherwise it doesn't matter. Don't forget the quad ring between the pump and wear plate

yes, got that ring in the kit and will make note if it has a top and a bottom when I pull the old one off.....
