The barking sounds like the accelerator pump issue. Does hammering the throttle from a dead standstill isn't the best idea in the world anyway, it's probably something livable. A water out the top of the captain's call swivel. There may or may not be a seal there. But you're rarely over 2,500 with them thru Hull exhaust closed anyway. And that's what bilge pumps are for. About this age, you can always find something to fix if you look hard enough.

Wanted to give an update. Been drivin it every day for an average an hour a day. Been either cruising with the family and friends at wot (4200-4400 rpm at 45-50 mph) or pulling the kids in their tube. Boat has been real good. More power than ever, no more issues, sounds good, starts good, pulls good.
