Fork lift rigged on loader bucket. Worked great for its purpose of loading if you don't have fork attachment for loader. Btw delsol the combination of the fork lift and chainfall not all bad. Can give you that little extra time when needed especially when by yourself. Always nice to have the safety of two guys but doesn't always work out that way.

I just take a truck crane home from work. Put an I beam in the garage just in case. It's 14' up.

I installed 2 H beams (one near front and one rear) which span 30 feet and have it sized for 3 ton in my shop. Installed a 6x6 next to the original 6x6 used for the pole barn building. Its 16 feet ceiling, but chain fall is about 15 feet

Pretty much like my set up only my 12" ibeam just bellow 12 ft insolated ceiling. I'm almost half tempted to build half a gantry with a smaller ibeam down past my insolated ceiling. Could anchor the ibeam above wall between trusses and bolt up a half gantry on the other side of boat. (15 ft) That would give me another 12-16".

I think 14' to 15' is where you want to be. I bought a really nice adjustable Vistel gantry last fall, but its only 10' tall. I need to somehow add at least 3-4 feet to it.
