5.7 TBI build questions

Correct. It is a 2bbl. GM throttle body/intake with two measly injectors. Definite choke point. The only difference between a 260 HP 5.7L EFI and the 300 HP 350 MAG in the late 90's was the intake and TBI vs. MPI setup. Heads, cam, and shortblock were identical.

Like I said out dated fuel delivery system. and at 220 hp this would NOT be a roller small block. They Merc 1997 had a carb version of this exact engine at 210 hp what a dog non Vortec non roller motor. Now if one would happen to have the 260 hp then that is a Vortec / roller small block.

Volvo Penta marketed a 5.7 Votec TBI engine in the late 90's that was rated at 320 HP. It used an aluminum 4 bbl intake with an adapter for the 2bbl tbi. It was the exact same GM long block as Merc used.
