One of the reasons of many why I am doing this. For one totally alot better EMI / RFI suppression and 2 complete better quality and 3 so much cheaper than what Merc is selling.
Plug wires in boats do not last like they do in cars. For one heat soak / with no air hitting the engine ever. And inside engine compartment emissions. Also fuel vapor over time does attack rubber components. . They are an ignition component and all that stuff has a time limit as a wearable as its weakens. Along with father time. https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...nce-wires.html |
Still not sure if the IAC installed is running correctly. Does not surge like the port engine. Have a Hitachi on standby. Replacing bellows and gimbal bearings next week, 1992 Fountain needs maintainence ......Thanks guys..... |

Finally got back into the engine room after weeks. Went to start; no ignition. Classic CPS.......had before. This is the third one in 7 years and only 200 hrs. Swapped it out and BINGO; running like a raped ape again. Nothing negative, mirror image with port engine. I think I have a serious Electrolysis problem. Will need some advice on that, both engines do not appear to be grounded to one another. Any way I’d say I had a slowly failing CPS that finally totally failed. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4f7060ce36.png |
