Molded bypass hose from recirc pump. Source?
This seems like it would be a common problem but a search didn’t pop up any immediate info. My new airgap intake is much taller taller than the stock unit so that little hose is too short. Anyone know where to get 3/4” hose with a 90* bend? |

your local auto parts will have the same thing, cut to fit

The one I got at O'rileys was long enough, in fact it needed trimming. The real problem I had was the hoses from the thermostat housing to 1) recirculating pump 2) to oil cooler. I ended up getting double barbed straight S/S fittings for both and trimming 2 hoses for each to avoid kinking at bends.
Good luck. |
I don't use one. Most t-stat housings do the same thing. IE: have a bypass within them
So....what do you have for a t-stat housing ? |

stock Merc MPI thingy. Four ports; big recirc pump, header hoses, freshwater intake. That housing recirculates water back down to the inlet of the recirc pump (amogst other thigs) so that bypass hose is not needed. If the pipe is threaded in the recirc pump, unthread it and put in a brass pipe plug. :) https://www.mercruiserparts.com/Merc...MMON/39675.gif |
