well i think i have the answer,when i win the big lottery i will never see temp below 50 deg so winterizing will be a distant memory,lol.

I am pretty sure that Mercury designed the cooling system so that all of the hose clamps are positioned in such a way that any need to lean over the front of the motor or reach around it, results in your clothing catching on all the hose clamps loose ends and bending upwards just to become sharp weapons. Usually more prone to happen on the clamps that have lost those rubber end protectors. |

I sold my boat last Feb. so I didn't have to get it ready in the spring or winterize it now so both of my arms and hands are cut and scar free from hose clamp ends. its mainly ties wraps for the wounds. But I have a tie wrap cut flush tools so that helps but for the past 2 years I have been replacing and using low profile tie wraps. They look alot better to. Amazes me how many tie wraps are used in a boat.
