Procharged 502 mag mpi rich idle.
This is a new to me 2000 Nordic rage with a procharged 502 mag. After idling to warm up the boat starts to load up if I give it a little throttle it will cough and sputter then clear up and run great. If I roll on the throttle slow I can get it to come out of the hole decent after idling but if I punch it it’s slow to clear up and get on plane. The dealer told me that they’ve looked into it and can’t find any problems and it’s the way the boats tuned. I’m running 35psi fuel pressure around 120f on the gauge. Vacuum at idle is about 10 inches. New plugs air cleaner is clean. Going to hook a computer up to it and try to retrieve data and going to check timing this weekend. Any pointers on what else to check would be great. It’s not so bad I can’t stand it but I really would like a better hole shot comming out of long no wake zones.

Prob needs to be tuned w wide band and mefi software. The cold enrichment table adds fuel under 140 degrees stock so possible the multipler is adding fuel that you dont need at idle. Have injectors flowed, cleaned and tested then have it tuned, it will be a different boat when done. I see problems w injectors I flow for customers all the time and I see boats with butchered up tunes or stock tunes w boost referenced fuel regulators that are fat/lean when I tune on the water etc,Smitty

Any injector shop can flow and clean them, I offer it as part of my business too if you want to pull them and send them, you can PM me on that but there is prob someone local who can do it too. As far as who can tune your boat on water in Idaho, not sure on that, Smitty

Ditto, I removed (or I think it was moved) the cold enrichment down to like 100*. Find someone with MEFI burn to move or remove the cold start enrichment.
The procharger system has you remove the T stat and run full cooling. It is hardly ever out of enrichment. That will soot the transom and foul plugs with long idle times. It probably blows black smoke at idle too!
