Need to get the codes from the motor

If the ECM thinks you have low oil pressure, which it does, then the ECM is going to reduce power

I like this promising lead. I'll report back when I scan it.

Got it on the scanner and the only fault was from 2 years ago when it over heated after the belt broke. No fault for oil pressure sender. Nothing. In fact, is says "low oil pressure switch ok"

I cleared the fault and really don't what what else to do.

Your saying, You replaced the oil pressure sensor there are no codes and you still have reduced power?

Sensor won't be here til Tuesday. But there's no indications that "sensor" (which I think is just an alarm trigger) provides any input to the computer. I was hoping for the scanner to provide a smoking gun.

Please elaborate. Old school way of pulling plugs, spark tester or is that a feature on the scanner?

The techmate has a misfire test built in. Don't remember right now (would need to look at the manual), but think during test rpms are up around 1800, then it drops each cylinder one by one

Would a "power balance" test sound right?

Your making me read the manual again

Since yours is a VP you have available
Spark kill - which is what I'm calling the misfire
Injector kill - another good test
Spark fire - visual spark testing
Injector fire - used with leak down test to see if injector is leaking
