You are going to need to be more specific about what fitting you are talking about

Agree more info, but think its not a thru hull but the plastic piece which is used to hold the hose on the bell housing or transom assembly end

Sorry - it is the exterior gear lube plastic fitting that connects the lube hose: which used to be brass, but since I got the both gimbals changed 4 years ago they are now plastic. What broke is the male part of the fitting going into the lube hose
Thanks

You need to pull the bell housing and maybe even the motor

Could replace the plastic one with the brass one 22-18922 and 22-18923

AllDodge, How does the brass one seal without o-rings sealing the water from coming through the transom assembly? I have never seen the brass one but like the idea after dealing with the plastic ones.

It does use a O ring item 2

Hey,
To my understanding you cannot switch out the plastic for brass ,theses are new gimbals which use plastic fittings. my old gimbal were brass,I did switch out the lube tube fitting inside the transum with a little twisting of my body but now the outside fitting broke at the tube fitting .Motor removal is not necessary but I am asking if someone did remove this thru hull fitting without removing the bell housing because I can get my hand in there but its tight
Thanks

ive done quite a few of them. Turn the wheel all the way to port with the drive trimmed down and you can get right at it
