Default Ignition module trick

Has anyone ever heard of using a 4.3l merc ignition module on a gen 4 454 in place of its own v8 ignition module I was told it was an upgrade can anyone confirm or deny this

Yes. A ton of people here over the years. Since it has very little advance when used on a v8, mostly people with roots supercharges and those with very large cams naturally aspirated use them as it lets you put in a lot if initial advance.

I'm building a .30 454 500hp cam roller setup with a wieand 177 on it I guess it would benefit me
